Outreach

DEAF, Inc. is committed to raising awareness about hearing loss, fostering understanding, and offering support and resources to both the deaf and mainstream communities. Our outreach initiatives aim to promote greater inclusivity and provide valuable assistance to all individuals.

Deaf Awareness Days

Deaf Awareness Days celebrate and spotlight deaf culture and the achievements of deaf individuals, emphasizing their positive contributions to society.

The setting is a baseball field at the St. Louis Cardinals. There is a croweded stadium in the background. Cardinals baseball players lined up with their hands behind their backs. They are in the distance and facing the field. There is a male, asian teenager wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. He is signing, "Love" from America the Beautiful. He is displayed on the jumbotron in the background.
There is an art exhibit filled with drawings. A woman is seated in the booth, looking over and smiling with water in her hands. Across the booth is a woman with curly hair pulled up in a bun. She is wearing a flowered, blue shirt and looking at the artworks. Her finger is on her lip like she is thinking.

Deaf Visual Arts

This program provides an opportunity to cultivate sensitivity and awareness of deaf culture, as well as promoting communication access within your business's workplace environment.

Inclusive Events

Our inclusive events provide safe spaces for individuals of all ages and abilities to socialize and engage, fostering connections and community interaction that may not be readily available elsewhere.

There is a white woman, crouched down in a witchy costume. She has a long pointed, black and purple hat. She is pointing at the iPad in the ring light. Next to her is a white child with blonde hair and a purple/black witch dress. She is smiling at the iPad. There is a green screen behind them.

Presentations & School Visits

We raise awareness about hearing loss, deaf culture, history, sign language, and our communities by conducting engaging presentations at schools, ASL clubs, colleges, and businesses, among others.

There is a group of elementary students, seated on the floor. All of them are looking at the presenter. The presenter is a white woman with hair pulled back. She is signing towards the kids. There are two large whiteboards and touch screen in the middle.

Representation

DEAF, Inc. serves as a representative of the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind community by actively participating in advisory committees or boards at local, statewide, and regional levels, advocating for the community's needs and interests.
